A good example of Advertising photography i have chosen to use Lynx. the reason i decided to go with lynx is because as a company they use Advertising photography, however they add their own unique twist to it, the company have realised a couple new fragrance to the brand Lynx Excite and Lynx 2012 Final edition. this i when my point starts the whole world knows about the Mayan calendar believe it or not but the Lynx company feels its a good way of attracting viewers a potential buyers of the product. but this is the strange part why would a company use the end of the world as advertisement is this just advertisement to feed of the trend of the whole 2012 thing or is this some kind of warning?

Advertising photography

Is one of the most used forms of photography we have as Human bings.  This form of photography is used to attract Viewers by advertising Shops, Brands, Products, parties etc. with out second thought you think this is a powerful art form, and the reason is because Pictures are worth a thousand words and can bring in a lot of money to advertising companies and Marketing teams alike, knowing the both companies will then go in search for the right photographer for the job, the photographer that they feel could send a message or statement to the viewers that  show the Company, Product, Brand, Shop etc in the best light possible. this different companies use Advertising photography to promote themselves. the difference  Advertising photography and photojournalism is the the isolation  Advertising photography is normally shot in a studio, where a photojournalism is mostly taken on site of different  natural and man made events.

photojournalism

Photojournalist take picture that will hit the news, media, Lifestyles head on to raise awareness with pictures like the one above. Timeliness is basically the picture  that have meaning and contexts of recent events to the viewers for example the 2012 olympics. the objective of a photojournalist is to portray the independent meanings found in a situation of a picture understood by the viewers, the Narrative of the picture (the story its telling you, what the story the picture above is telling you), and the news elements along side it, making the facts and effects shown in the picture more relatable to the viewers.

photojournalism?

What is photojournalism? Well photojournalism is basically a journalist but without the real use of words. A photojournalist tells a story just like the journalist would but he or she will tell the, tell with pictures.  The life of a photojournalist isn’t as essay as it sound, to be able to tell an entire story from a couple of photos takes a lot of practice, luck and a man in the inside.  A photojournalist is more than just a simple photographer he or she has to think deeply about the meaning and possible meaning they can portray to the viewers. That’s the problem with photojournalism that the original meaning captured by the journalist can be changed completely by the viewer’s take and opinion of the picture.  A photojournalist takes much pride in know that there pictures are as raw as possible, there is practically no editing involved, unless the picture needs a little touch up. In the end a photojournalist wants nothing more than to create that Dramatic question that could or couldn’t change the viewers  way of thinking.

This picture was taken at college, i had to capture the footballers passing the ball to each other, it sounds easy but believe me its far from that, you was not allowed to use any setting but Manuel  and have to chose the right  shutter speed to be able to capture the ball moving and still keep everyone and everything focused, and also capturing the Line (horizontal, vertical, diagonal, perspective lines.

Working with the Art

The look of a winner, the camera reflected this as you guys will see when the video is dropped, the body art was a huge bonus. whilst filming on set i spent a bit more time than i should on this lady but can you blame me? the camera loved her it was like the camera was her soul mate every move she made the camera felt like it was alive and breathing on puls to her dancing... what a great day to be a camera man/ director

UVA forever

UVA scene of "If We Meet Again"

This scene was one of my favourite, but also one of the most challenging, the positioning of the uva light was so very important even if one light was an inch out of place the effect that myself and my team where trying to achieve would be no longer.

this photo in its original size look better but look past that, the depth of this picture, at first looks pretty basic, but in my opinion it has a lot more meaning the two girls facing the camera with a slight smile on there face, looking as beautiful as they can possibly be brighting up the dark "i mean that also on a more spiritual meaning. whilst the guy at the back is going over his dance steps, its funny how a camera can capture so much memorise and meaning with just a flash of a light.

Artists

This is an artist know as SWEELDAAG, this picture was taken at the "If we meet again Video shoot"

There are many reason why i chose this picture , the contrast was one of the reason why i chose this photo,  i personally love the dark background against the brightly coloured clothing of SWEELDAAG really makes him stand out. The UVA bouncing of his whites really adds to the photo contrast. This photo has depth-of-filed is up to its eye balls, the Artist believe it or not is standing in the middle of the dance floor (if you look closely  at this  picture you will be able to see what im saying). the reason i chose to take this shot from this angle was simple  it reflected the lighting  better  and also to stop my shadow form being in the frame.  The exposure as you can see it low and not at all very revelling but that was the intention of  the music video its bassed in a night club, so we had a problem how do you show its a typical night club without bombarding it with lights  destroying the natural look of the night club and still have enough light to capture the face dance, singers etc. i originally thought lighting a night club will be a piece of cake... oh very wrong i was, the time spent angling and moving the light was frustrating hour of the general set up, but would not change it for the world as it showed me a lot of different ways i can work with angles .

this are some pictures i took whilst playing with motion Blur at my college #SouthsideCollege, learning to use motion blur has really help me take pictures that i feel are more artistic, the reason i say this is because photo with this new skill i learnt look more magical and serial, like it was taken in a far distant land and also when i show them to people i get a different reaction every time.

The cage ( Portraiture photography )

this picture is a very powerful picture, the artist has cut away most of the boy face and focused on one half of the face, i believe the artist decided to take the shot like this to show the lack of emotion in the boy. what i get from the picture in a whole is that the boy has been put in imprisonment for a while and lost any human emotion, and looks into the camera with a blank expresion.

The Absence (fine art photography)

This picture is fine art photography. The absence of people in this picture, is kind of disturbing in a way, the feelings I get from this image reminds me of being told a ghost story as a kid. The strength of this picture is unsettling the depth of the emptiness of the coat on the floor, the old record beside it, is in my eyes a ghost of its forma life. I believe the purpose of this picture is to show a time in history when we the world was at the brink of nuclear warfare, and how if the world had went down this path, the image we see above in the artist point of view would be the world we would be living now, well not living but you get my point. The composition of the picture above is on and angel going towards the top left conner of the picture, me as the viewer look at the picture composition it looks like the picture is taken on a slated suffuses, the lines in this picture is used effectively, the elements of composition are used because the lines give structure to a picture by directing the viewer's eyes and attention to the main lines, this unify composition by directing the viewer's eyes and attention to the main point of the picture or lead the eyes from one part of the picture to another.
